The difference between what you do and why you do it.
A world where most people wake up feeling inspired, safe and fulfilled by the work that they do. This is the vision of Simon Sinek. I first came to learn about Sinek’s work through his Ted Talk about how great leaders inspire action. Somehow it really stuck with me. It turns out that many leaders who make an impact have similar patterns in thinking, acting and communicating.
Although this book is mainly written for organizations, it is quite easy to apply to your own life. And to find out why you do what you do.
The focus on the why, made me aware that in every endeavor I undertake, I always need to stay in touch with ‘what makes me tick’, in other words, why do I do what I do. If I keep true to my ‘why’, I can’t go wrong.
Ps . Some say, you don’t need to read this book, just watch the Ted Talk. I, however, enjoyed going a bit more ‘in depth’ in the matter.
‘Happiness comes from what we do. Fulfillment comes from why we do it.’
